I'll rate based on originality, attention lock-ability, soundtrack, and if it's worthy of an episode 2. Let's get started!
Cmon, the same long face, short hair cut, and deep blue eyes. Phenotypes aside, they're both medical professionals with a substance addiction. This is looking too similar already.
-twenty six minutes later-
Yep, I liked it. It passes.

Yeah, actually, I don't know how to start a review. Should I give y'all a fully detailed summary and spoil the first episode? Nah, you don't want that. But here's a little something something....
We've got Jackie Peyton, a nurse who works over 80 hours a week and is fueled on schedule II drugs. She's snarky, witty, smart and does whatever the hell she wants. So, you're gonna love this woman most of the episode, until you find out that she's living a "double life" and no, I won't reveal her secret here. I loved the dramatic effect when she stepped back into the darkness at the end. Nice touch.
There was also a lot of back and forth about religion here, both with the dialogue and even the setting. One of the most memorable quotes being "make me good, God, but not yet", which was probably the best way to describe Jackie. It is quite difficult to identify her character as a goody or a baddy, but that's all the more reason to watch episode two and learn more about her! Other than that, the pilot is peppered with lots of funny moments and characters and it's overall just a nice way to pass 30 minutes.
RATING
Originality: 3/5
Attention Lock-Ability: 4/5 I picked up my phone maybe twice. Not bad.
Soundtrack: 4/5
Ep. 2 Worthy? Yes
