I'm was really excited to start this show, guys. I love stories that take place around World War II so this is my cup of tea.
The pilot begins with Sira stripped down and having all sorts of firepower strapped onto her body. It opens up with that really cool, mysterious scene, but then the show doesn't address it again in the first episode. But we do get to explore her childhood and all the relationships she has at home.
I also have to address how impressed I am at the show's set and props. Everything looks really elegant and fitting to the times and I'd give this show a 10/10 already just for looking so good.
Anyway, we're then introduced to her love interest, which rather disappointed me just cause he wasn't my type for her, and my sister and I were hoping that there was going to be another guy. Cause honestly, Ignacio did not look like the kind to drive you love crazy enough to move to Africa. But yes, the other guy did come along and he was a tall, dark, handsome and with a pinch of ill intent. Still, it was interesting watching the main character act like a complete love fool and you knowing that it's all gonna bite her in the ass in the next couple of episodes.
The show did a tremendous job on building a believable set, and the writing and character building was excellent as well. It was hard not to like any of the characters introduced in this episode and I think they all got extra points just for having really fun accents. This is a really good pilot and I'm definitely going to watch the next episode.
P.S. I watched and wrote this review on Friday. It's now Sunday and I've finished the series.
